Role/Responsibilities

• The position participates in simulation project planning with design and other simulation engineers, ensures simulations are executed accurately, analyzes results, and creates summary reports with recommendations.
• Much of the day is spent using 3D battery CFD and thermal software (fluent or STAR-CCM+), building physics-based models, performing simulations, and analyzing results.
• Time is also spent attending team meetings and documenting and reporting results to clients.
• Knowledge and experience with commercial 3D fluid dynamic and thermal software such as ANSYS fluent or Siemens STAR-CCM+
• Knowledge of battery system (such as cell, module, pack, bus bar, and cooling systems) and battery chemistry would be an asset.
• Experience with 1D simulation software such as GT-SUITE or Amesim and solid modeling software such as PTC Creo or BETA CAE Systems ANSA would be a bonus.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Requirements

• PhD Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or MS degree with 3+ years of related work experience.
• The candidate must have performed fluid dynamics and thermal simulations as a part of their graduate studies or as part of a prior job in industry.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range Minimum: $25.96 per hour

Pay Range Maximum: $42.30 per hour

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies.
