Café Manager
Full-Time | Monday–Friday | Hours Vary, typically 6am – 3pm (Pay Rate DOE)

We’re looking for an experienced, upbeat, hands-on Café Manager with menu creativity and a passion for small business! Our small but busy café offers freshly made-to-order breakfast and lunch, along with grab-and-go selections and reheatable entrées. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys both leadership and being active in the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day café operations, ensuring excellent customer experience and a welcoming environment, while keeping up with the fast-paced demand.
• Prepare and oversee production of menu items, including breakfast burritos, breakfast sandwiches, breakfast combos, sandwiches, wraps, burgers, salads, fried foods, grab-and-go entrées, etc.
• Maintain well-stocked and appealing grab-and-go coolers with freshly prepped items. Cycle items through based on sales trends and create new items to appeal to customer base.
• Menu planning and daily specials.
• Recruit, train, schedule and supervise staff, fostering a positive and efficient team environment.
• Consistently monitor food quality, safety and sanitation standards, ensuring that all Washington State DOH regulations and guidelines are being followed on a consistent basis.
• Manage inventory, shopping, ordering and vendor relationships.
• Monitor profit margins, adjusting pricing as needed based on costs and local sales trends. Consistently be aware of increased costs or potential problem areas and adjust as needed to maximize overall profitability. Review P&L statements on a monthly/quarterly/yearly basis.
• Ensure that all new menu items are input into the system correctly and all pricing is within margin and consistent among all required platforms.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year experience as a Manager in Food Service setting (recent, within last 5 years).
• Minimum 6 months line cook experience.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and lead by example.
• Ability to learn and memorize ALL recipes.
• Knowledge and consistent practice of food safety and sanitation practices. Washington State Food Worker Card required; Serv-Safe Food Safety Manager Certification a plus!
• Must be computer literate. Previous experience with SSCS/CDB, Restaurant Pro Express and Khamu Solutions platform a plus but not required!
• Friendly, customer-focused attitude.
