Back Office Medical Assistant Floater Job Description The Floater will perform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician for both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. This role supports clinician and care management teams in assessing, maintaining chronic disease management, examining, and treating the patient population. The medical assistant floater is responsible for performing all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks. This floating employee will be working in various offices to support either in the MA role or dedicated lab.
Responsibilities - Perform quality team-based patient care under clinician supervision
- Support clinician and care management teams in chronic disease management and patient examinations
- Perform all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks
- Assess emergencies and act accordingly
- Communicate and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public
- Float between various locations as patient queue demands
- Maintain knowledge of laboratory quality control requirements and basic medical terminology
- Adhere to universal precaution procedures in medical safety practice
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $41288.00 - $51043.00
