CarMax is now hiring Automotive Technicians! Automotive Technicians repair and recondition cars to meet CarMax’s high standards. They use their skills to diagnose, fix and prepare vehicles for customers, including repairing engines, adjusting steering and suspension, and checking brakes. Technicians work as part of a skilled team in a clean, modern, climate-controlled environment. Responsibilities include inspecting, reconditioning, and repairing vehicles to ensure customer safety and satisfaction, solving technical problems quickly, building experience across a wide range of domestic and foreign vehicles, and promoting high standards of safety, cleanliness, and organization. The role requires motivation, teamwork, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. CarMax supports associates with equipment, feedback, and training for skill development and accreditations. Qualifications include experience in engine repair, steering and suspension, brakes, heating and air conditioning, knowledge of health and safety compliance, manual dexterity, physical stamina, good communication skills, and a valid driver’s license. ASE Certifications are required where mandated by state/local law, with specific certifications required for California technicians.
