CarMax is now hiring Automotive Technicians to repair and recondition cars to meet CarMax’s high standards. Automotive Technicians use their skills to diagnose, fix and prepare vehicles for customers, including repairing engines, adjusting steering and suspension, and checking brakes. The role involves working as part of a skilled team in a clean, modern, climate-controlled environment. Responsibilities include inspecting, reconditioning, and repairing vehicles to ensure customer safety and satisfaction, solving technical problems quickly and effectively, building experience across a wide range of domestic and foreign vehicles, and promoting high standards of safety, cleanliness, and organization. The position requires motivation to work in a fast-paced environment, teamwork, and continuous learning supported by training and development opportunities. Qualifications include experience in engine repair, steering and suspension, brakes, heating and air conditioning, knowledge of health and safety compliance, manual dexterity and physical stamina, ability to manage multiple tasks, good communication skills, a valid driver’s license, and maintaining ASE Certifications where required by law.
