Overview Join to apply for the Assistant Manager Dog Boarding/Daycare role at West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce . Raccoon River Kennels, a family-owned company, is passionate about caring for dogs in an exciting boarding and doggie daycare enriched facility. The assistant manager should apply leadership experience, prior animal care experience, and a warm, positive personality to our team. Work Model On-Site Part time/Full time 4-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM) for an 8-hour shift total Weekdays, weekends, and holidays General Job Responsibilities Under guidance of Manager, oversee daily operations of the facility, including staff scheduling, staff training/onboarding, and all direct animal care Assist leading a team of kennel attendants and administrative staff Supervise playgroups for boarding and daycare clients Works reception alongside General Manager and part time Receptionists Feed/administer medications/perform baths/nail trims etc. Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, addressing their needs, feedback, and concerns. Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues that arise in a professional and timely manner Assist the manager in monitoring and managing inventory, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are stocked Balance daily transactions Implement marketing and promotional efforts to grow the RRK’s clientele Develop and enforce policies and procedures to ensure the smooth operation of daycare and boarding departments Foster a positive, team-oriented, and respectful work environment What You Will Need To Be Successful College degree preferred At least 1 year of leadership experience is required, preferred within the industry Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Animal Care Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop staff Passion for dogs and a deep understanding of animal behavior and care Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to multitask, solve problems, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment Experience working with QuickBooks, Excel, and Google Suite Positive and outgoing attitude Benefits Full Time PTO 401k with company matching Employee Discount/ Bring your dog to work!
