Job Title : Part-Time Gallery Assistant

Position Overview :

The Cannon Beach Arts Association (CBAA) is seeking a friendly, organized, and enthusiastic part-time Gallery

Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the arts, have customer service skills, and be

able to support the daily operations of the gallery. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a vibrant arts

community and support the promotion and presentation of local and regional artists.

Key Responsibilities :

• Greet visitors to the gallery and provide excellent customer service, answering questions about the artwork,

artists, and exhibitions.

• Assist with the installation and deinstallation of artwork and Exhibitions as needed.

• Manage daily opening and closing procedures, including securing the gallery and ensuring its cleanliness and

order.

• Process sales of artwork and gallery merchandise utilizing the Square system, including maintaining accurate

records of transactions.

• Provide administrative support, including answering phone calls, responding to emails, and managing our artist

files.

• Assist in inventory management, ensuring artwork is accounted for and properly displayed.

Qualifications :

• Strong interest in the arts and working in a creative environment.

• Previous customer service or retail experience preferred, especially in an arts-related setting.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Basic knowledge of art handling and gallery operations a plus.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Detail-oriented with organizational skills.

• Comfortable with technology, including point-of-sale system.

• Ability to lift and move artwork (up to 30 pounds) and assist with gallery installations.

Schedule :

• Part-time (2-3 days per week), with flexible hours, including weekends and the occasional evening event.

Compensation :

• Hourly wage starting at $18 per hour.
