Accounts Payable Accountant #22197

Bishop & Company is seeking an  Accounts Payable Accountant  for a healthcare institution in Honolulu. This role is responsible for accurately and timely processing vendor invoices, payments, and related reconciliations, while maintaining compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities

• Review, verify, and process vendor invoices for accuracy and proper approvals
• Perform 2-way and 3-way invoice matching
• Enter invoices into the accounting system in a timely and accurate manner
• Prepare and process check runs, ACH, and wire payments
• Ensure timely payment of all vendor obligations
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
• Communicate with vendors and internal departments regarding invoice issues
• Assist with month-end close and account reconciliations related to accounts payable
• Maintain organized and accurate AP records and documentation
• Support audits and ensure compliance with internal controls
• Assist with 1099 preparation and reporting as needed and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 2+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience (adjustable based on level)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Knowledge of GAAP preferred
• Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Additional Information:

• Type:  Temporary for 3 months with possible extension
• Hours:  Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM or 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Location:  Honolulu, HI 96813
• Parking: not provided
• Pay: $28-$30/hr DOE
